The flight track from which most of these images came, started from the South near and West of the town Kidangole; extended north to Soroti; continued north exiting Teso to the south of the Labwar hills in West Karamoja. Additional flights from West to East provided overviews including the second image. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ....... . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Characteristic components of Teso settlement are seen here.There are long narrow plowed fields. This is a classic agricultural tillage problem. single bottomed plows pulled by two or three oxen were in use. This rig is difficult and awkward to turn around. So to reduce the turning for a tilled area, the practice is to use long and often narrow field shapes. medieval farmers in
Western Europe had the same difficulty and devised the same response. Settlements consist of cleared compounds with up to five houses and associated basket granaries. Compounds are often bordered by brush or low tree hedges and sometimes show brush or tree windbreaks on one and two sides. There is one small corral. Corrals were seen less often than the high cattle population densities would suggest.
