This shows a settled landscape east of Kisimera, 6 or so miles southwest of Fort Portal. Houses were commonly sheltered within banana groves. Older houses were round in shape with thatched roofs; newer houses were rectangular with galvanized iron or sheet aluminum roofing. Cultivation, largely of root crops, is seen on the slope to the left.
