Northern Region

The region encompases the entire northern area of the country. It is bounded by Zaire on the west, Sudan to the north, the Turkana area of Kenya to the east. The Northern region includes West Nile in the north west, East Madi, Acholi and Lango in the center and Karamoja in the East. This is a large large region of Uganda, in 1963 most of the area supported light population densities.
